Bonus Slots Update #1 including Harley-Davidson, Spam, and Rubik's Cube

14 July 2004

The three slots reviewed here will be instantly recognizable and sure to bring some smiles of remembrance for slot players.

Harley-Davidson: A true American icon, the concept of this progressive game is to depict the activity of traveling the country, going to different road rallies. Jackpot winners also receive a Harley-Davidson Fat Boy motorcycle.

The bonus round combines an image of a physical reel protruding from the screen representing the front motorcycle tire. The roar of the 'Hog' is an authentic recording from a Harley complete with gear changes.

'Great American Rally' bonus is triggered by three or more Road Rally symbols on a payline and the player gets to hop aboard the Harley and try his/her hand at up to 3 bonus spins.

This amount appears on the motorcycle gauges in front of you. If all three rallies are completed, the player is prompted to select an H-D T-shirt to reveal additional bonus amounts or a multiplier from 2x to 5x. If you happen to land five triggering symbols to get to this round, the chances you'll reach the Great American Bonus and a shot at the top prizes is 90% for the Whole Hog.

Spam: the world's favorite luncheon meat is now being served. 1950's type commercial characters suggest ways to prepare this canned treat. Three or more 'Dancing Spammy' symbols trigger a scatter pay, and the 'Rings of Spam' bonus is initiated when three 'Cook Book' symbols land on the second, third and fourth reels of a payline.

The player selects cans of Spam that reveal bonus amounts or uncovers a 'One More Pick' icon that ends the bonus after that selection. When 3 or more 'USDA Grade A Bonus' symbols land, the 'Spam Cook Off" starts.

After choosing one of three cans of Spam, a delicious Spam shaped item such as a football or valentine is revealed. Bonus award depends on the 1st, 2nd or 3rd place finish of your dish selection. This is a mouth-watering game, so adjust your dining schedule accordingly.

Rubik's Cube: Free Spin bonus is initiated when 3 'Professor Rubik' symbols line up. You are rewarded up to 10 free spins with multipliers from 1x to 5x. The 3 center reels contain different colors and the idea is to match all 3 for a 10x total wager bonus. There are 8 paylines for this bonus round, so the player has a chance to be paid up to 1,000 times the total bet.

When three or more 'Watch' symbols land on a payline, the 'Cube Bonus' starts. The screen displays a scrambled Rubik's cube and the player presses the 'Go' button, starting the cube assembly. A bonus meter shows the total credits that decrease as the number of twists increase. Okay, you geniuses, take a twist (but not too many) at this one.

Until next we meet in the Slots Playground…

Gayle Mitchell

Gayle Mitchell, one of the first women to break through the “felt ceiling” of the previously male-dominated world of casino gambling gurus, is now regarded as one of North America’s leading experts on casino gambling.

Gayle’s commitment to educating the gambling public began almost 20 years ago, when she walked into a Las Vegas casino and experienced for the first time the thrill that comes with winning even a small bet. She made up her mind then and there to learn every game in the casino, and a short time later resolved to make a career out of sharing her insights with other gamblers. She had always considered herself to be a good teacher – she believes in keeping things simple – and decided that she would commit herself to showing newbies how to become knowledgeable, intelligent gamblers.

Gayle started her own publishing company, and her first book came out in 1997. Today she is the author of seven books, seven EBooks, and a set of five Tips booklets, and has presented many seminars on casino gambling. Currently she teaches Learn to Win Programs with other leading experts at GamblingTeachers.com. The site is a player-friendly Free Gambling Learning Center offering 300+ online lessons for popular casino games plus Gambling Teachers Blog. Gayle also operates www.gamerisms.com, which is a games glossary site for sport, casino, skill and video game players.

“It’s a fact that less than 2 percent of casino players know the profitable, correct strategies and/or rules for most casino games,” Gayle says. “Our group of career teachers and writers are working to improve that statistic.”
